PADI Sidemount Diver Specialty Course
Course Introduction
Looking to experience a different way of diving than traditional backmount? The Sidemount Diver Specialty Course teaches you how to mount tanks on your sides—making it possible to don or remove them even at the surface or underwater.
Using two tanks improves your ability to manage your air supply and promotes better balance and control. You’ll also develop neutral buoyancy skills, as you must hover for at least one minute—preferably in a horizontal position.
Recreational sidemount diving is inspired by cave diving techniques. In this course, you’ll also gain a basic understanding of technical diving principles.
